REPAIR PROCESS
1. The wheel is fitted with The WERP aka Wheel Edge Ring Protector. The WERP guarantees that no further damage is caused to the wheel rim during the tyre removal process. We are the inventors/distributors of this tool which is exclusively available in Australia only.
2. Tyre is carefully removed from the wheel.
3. Wheel is assessed to verify extent of the damage and if it can be safely repaired.
4. The wheel is soaked with a bio degradable cleaner (NO ACID) and then carefully jet washed to remove all grit, grime, brake dust and any other dirt from the inside of the barrel of the wheel.
5. Wheel gets repaired using our specialised equipment which includes the european manufactured PROFESSIONAL PANGEA which we are approved distributors and trainers for in Australia.
6. Once repairs are complete, the wheel gets fitted with The WERP aka Wheel Edge Ring Protector so as to fit the tyre back on the wheel without causing any damage to the wheel rim during the fitment process.
7. The wheel will then get rebalanced and thereafer will be ready to go back on the vehicle.

Questions & Answers Guide
Do you clean the inside barrel, including removing old wheel weights?
1.
Yes, a properly cleaned barrel ensures any required touch-up paint adheres correctly, rather than sitting on dirt, adhesive, or old weights—preventing a poor or uneven finish.
Do you straighten all your cracked wheel repairs?
2.
Yes. Every wheel that leaves our workshop is straightened as part of the repair process, and this is included in the cost. Straightening after a crack repair is best practice, as welding introduces heat and distortion that must be corrected to ensure the wheel is true and structurally sound. Some repairers charge extra for post-repair straightening or claim it isn’t necessary — this is a red flag and should be clarified upfront.
Do you maintain tight tolerances when straightening the wheel?
3.
Yes, without precise tolerances, the wheel may not be correctly repaired, which can lead to uneven machining and inconsistent material removal.
Do you machine (lathe) the excess weld, or is it ground off by hand?
4.
Once we’ve straightened the wheel to a tight tolerance, we lathe machine off the excess weld which provides accuracy and consistency, ensuring the weld area is fully sealed and eliminating the risk of air leaks. Hand-grinding increases the chance of uneven surfaces and potential leaks, resulting in a substandard repair.
Do you apply etch primer and paint to all exposed metal areas?
5.
Yes, this prevents oxidation and provides a clean, protective finish to the repaired section of the wheel.
Do you refit the tyre and balance the wheel?
6.
Yes, its included in the cost of the repair. Some repairers charge extra for this service, so it’s important to confirm upfront.
Do you offer same-day service if pre-booked? If not, what is the expected turnaround time?
7.
Yes we do have a same day service if pre-booked. If not same day, most repairs typically require 2–3 days, depending on the extent of the damage and workload.
Specialised Equipment and Machinery we Utilise:
The WERP™ aka The Wheel Edge Ring Protector
There is NO similar product available anywhere in the world.
The WERP™ is a metal ring working in conjunction with a rubber band that securely latches onto a wheel rim. Tyre [Tire] fitters can then safely remove or even fit a tyre [tire] to a wheel knowing they won’t damage the wheel rim regardless if its a run flat or low profile tyre [tire].
